We reach out with the concept of holistic health care, promoting it through the integration of other types of medicine. Preventive health care is also given through the outreach programs and in collaboration with Government Schemes.
Health care services existed in our Congregation from the very beginning. The explosion of knowledge and advancement in medical technology made medicine more complex and medical treatment costlier and inaccessible to the common man.
Our sisters are engaged in the health care and supportive systems. May sisters are rendering their services in hospitals and health centers including administration and direct services. We have two sister Doctors. Our sisters are also engaged in the Nursing Education in the School and College of Nursing.
The total number of Health Care Institutions is 14. Holistic care is promoted through the integration of Ayurveda, Herbal and Allopathic medicines. Preventive health care is given through outreach programmes, also through collaboration with Government Schemes. Our sisters serve in a Government Gandhi Hospital- Delhi; in Colliery Hospital- Kothagudem; Holy Family Hospital – Nazareth (belonging to Fratebene Fratelli) and in Deliverande Hospital in Egypt (belonging to the Domenican Sisters).
Our Primary health Centres exist in remote areas where medical and diagnostic facilities were non existant earlier. Vijay Marie Hospital caters to the General conditions. Specialists, Physicians and surgeons are available 24 hours. The HIV/AIDS patients are taken care of. It is a referral centre for maternity (OB and Gynaec) and Neonatal intensive care. The Hospital is well equipped with the latest technology to cater to all types of cases It also has diagnostic facilities, X-ray, Ultra sonography and in house- Pharmacy.
The School of Nursing was started by Sr. Delphine Rasquinha in 1973 and the College of Nursing in 2003. They aim at training students with high professional standards to become efficient care providers around the globe, with a spirit of compassion, commitment and love.
